PHP Developer/Web Designer

THE POSITION:
We are seeking a Programmer who enjoys a fast-paced, engaging environment. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working with the LAMP stack of technologies in developing custom web applications and database-driven sites. A solid understanding of “best practices” for object-oriented programming and security is a must. You must be able to meet strict deadlines, work well both independently and in a team, be willing to continually expand your knowledge of new techniques and platforms, and be an enthusiastic person to work with.
POSITION DETAILS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; or relevant experience in lieu of education
- Minimum three (3) years of experience using PHP
MINIMUM SKILLS:
- PHP8 and object-oriented development practices
- JavaScript including standalone AJAX and jQuery
- HTML and CSS in multi-browser environments
- MySQL skills including database structure and advanced queries
- Knowledge of security issues and best practices for building web applications
- Standards-compliant web authoring techniques
- Experience in application design, programming architecture, and software lifecycle
- Problem-solving and organizational skills
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work both in a team environment and alone
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS:
- PSD to CSS
- API interaction with social sites
- PhoneGap
- iPhone (Objective-C) and/or Android (Java)
- ASP
- C++
- .NET
- POS Terminal Programming (MICROS, Aloha, Focus, etc)
JOB DUTIES:
- Regularly split time between several unrelated projects to maintain systems for multiple clients
- Work with the Project Manager to determine the appropriate technical implementation of requirements
- Ensure implementation is in accordance with approved designs and appropriate standards
- Create code for new applications
- Maintain and enhance prior-existing applications
- Perform unit testing of developed applications
- Create test cases and procedures
- Coordinate with Project Manager to insure internal certification prior to external release
- Support diagnosis, documentation, and resolution of software defects
- Produce written documentation of work product, including functional and technical specifications, design notes, module interface details, data dictionaries, flow charts, and user guides
- Maintain confidentiality and protect proprietary information
- Other duties as required
